# Refining

> Complete guide to the ORB refining mechanism

**Refining** is ORB Supply's innovative mechanism that rewards long-term holders by redistributing a portion of claimed ORB rewards back to those who haven't claimed yet.

## The Core Concept

When miners claim their ORB rewards, a **10% refining fee** is automatically deducted. This fee is then redistributed to all miners who haven't claimed yet, proportional to their unclaimed ORB balance.

**The result:** Holders receive more ORB over time, while early claimers pay a small fee that benefits the community.

## How It Works

### The Refining Fee

```
Claimed ORB = Unrefined ORB × 0.90
Refining Fee = Unrefined ORB × 0.10
```

When you claim:

* You receive **90%** of your unrefined ORB
* **10%** goes to the refining pool

### Redistribution

The 10% fee is distributed to all holders with unclaimed ORB:

Refining happens automatically every time someone claims ORB. You don't need to do anything—just hold your unclaimed ORB and you'll accumulate refined ORB over time.

As others claim their ORB, your percentage of total unclaimed ORB increases, meaning you receive a larger portion of future refining fees. This creates a compounding effect for long-term holders.
